Although I enjoy and practice many forms of decorative painting, the traditional painting styles developed in Germany and Norway have always held a special interest for me. You might notice the influence of Rosemaling and/or Bauernmalerei in some of the projects you find here. I am also fascinated with the unique world of nutcrackers and smokers, and enjoy painting and personalizing these peculiar wooden people for friends and family as well as for custom orders.

I welcome your feedback and suggestions. How about ideas for future projects you might like to see? I look forward to hearing from you.

What you find in this Craft room is but a small sampling of what I have painted over the years. Many of my "creations" have been given away as gifts; some have been custom orders purchased for a special person or occasion. Each item is a unique, hand painted, one-of-a-kind treasure. When acquaintances see something I have painted, they often ask to see other examples of my work- this is the main reason that craftroomcreations.com was put online. Another reason is that I would enjoy the challenge of painting a unique gift for your special occasion. A co-worker’s daughter was having a second child. I designed a mother holding a newborn, with a toddler standing nearby. To make it more personal, I made sure the hair and eye colors matched those of the recipients, and clothing was painted in their favorite colors. Another acquaintance wanted to give something special to her husband for his birthday. I used his love of motorcycles to design a customized "biker dude" that included some little touches that made it uniquely him. I try to incorporate physical characteristics, favorite colors, hobbies - anything that would make the gift more meaningful to the recipient. If the custom order is for some other type of item - a tissue box, for example - I still work very closely with the person placing the order to try to come up with something that the person receiving it would enjoy and treasure.
